Nigel Wright are delighted to be working with an Global manufacturing organisation who are looking to recruit a Product Manager to be based in Manchester. In this newly created position the Product Manager will lead the development and execution of business strategies for new products, improvements, and business ventures. This role requires a dynamic individual capable of managing the New Product Development Funnel, developing core messaging and positioning, and acting as a key liaison between various departments to ensure the successful delivery and performance of the products.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Case Development:Develop comprehensive business cases for new products, enhancements, and business ventures.Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes to inform product strategies.New Product Development Funnel:Generate and manage the New Product Development Funnel, ensuring a consistent pipeline of innovative products.Oversee the entire product lifecycle from concept to launch.Core Messaging and Positioning:Create and refine core messaging and positioning for each product to ensure clear, compelling, and differentiated value propositions.Collaborate with Marketing to develop effective communication strategies.Cross-Departmental Liaison:Serve as the primary liaison between Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Production departments.Facilitate effective cooperation and communication to align product development with market needs.Market Expertise:Act as the company’s market expert for the product segment.Continuously monitor competitor activity to ensure product differentiation.Pricing Strategy:Propose and refine product pricing strategies to meet revenue and profitability targets.Conduct pricing analysis and adjustments as needed.Marketing Collaboration:Work closely with the marketing team to support product positioning through various channels including traditional sales techniques, marketing collateral, point of sale material, and digital platforms.Sales Support:Collaborate with the sales leadership team to ensure customer service, salespeople, and retailers are equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to sell product features effectively.Market Research:Conduct market research to understand customer/user needs and preferences.Leverage research findings to guide product development and enhancements.Customer Advocate:Act as the voice of the customer within the business.Ensure customer feedback is captured, analysed, and integrated into product development processes.QualificationsProven experience in product management or a similar role.Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Strong understanding of market research and data analysis.Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.Work EnvironmentThis role may require occasional travel to meet with customers, attend industry events. The role is predominantly office based and will work in a fast-paced environment where adaptability and the ability to manage multiple priorities are crucial.
