Our client are a medium sized engineering firm who are looking for a experience pump service engineer to join the team as a works foreman. The position of Works Foreman is a wide reaching hands on / leadership role within the company. It covers various responsibilities for assisting with quotations, hands on repair & installation work, work shop management, man-management over shop floor staff, maintenance scheduling, building maintenance, vehicle maintenance, and the overseeing & promotion of Health & Safety. Basic Core Duties to Include (these represent a minimum of core duties, not an exhaustive list) 1. Hands on pump repair work, both in house and on site 2. Carrying out all aspects from strip & reports, to final testing 3. Build-up of pump set assemblies. 4. Site surveys / customer meetings to fault find systems and promote company 5. Help prepare quotes for work, by providing accurate costing details 6. Assist on commercial decisions of pump replacement or repair 7. Shopfloor supervision and control 8. Helping to managing the workload, scheduling of work, non-productive time, discipline, communication, training etc of all service engineers 9. The Health & Safety, cleanliness and good order of works’ area 10. Liaison with sales, works stores in order to ensure jobs are done correctly and on time 11. Maintenance scheduling & calibration of equipment 12. Maintenance scheduling of the building and machinery 13. Ensuring all vans are regularly serviced, MOT, checked and are fully legal at all times 14. Assisting with the ongoing training of future engineers 15. Assisting in the mentoring and training of apprentice engineers 16. The overall promotion, effectiveness and smooth running of all shopfloor activities. The role is on days.
