Michael Page Engineering & Manufacturing are working in partnership with a highly successful Leeds based manufacturer who supply an exceptional range of products to a large customer base across the UK and internationally.

This leading UK business has experienced impressive growth in recent years due to their innovation, agility, and an ambition to succeed and are now looking to expand their manufacturing team to accommodate the increase in production requirements.

They are looking for an analytical Production Manager with a background in lean manufacturing and a passion for people management to assist them in driving the business forward for 2025 and beyond.

Description

The Production Manager will form part of the senior leadership team of this impressive business and will have full responsibility for running a fast-paced manufacturing process, focusing on H&S, product quality and output/OEE.

Reporting into the Operations Manager you will be tasked with delivering inspirational leadership, effective coaching and developing a culture of success through a team of 4 direct reports, and a wider team of 30+.

Other day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Ownership of the production plan and its implementation
  • Delivering to stringent on time and in full targets
  • Adhering to budget requirements
  • Promoting a culture focussed on continuous improvement
  • Developing high performing teams
  • Implementing additional KPIs to drive performance and success
  • Working in conjunction with stakeholders from other departments on key projects
  • Acting as an agent for change

Profile

Successful candidates will have a strong, fast-paced manufacturing background and a proven ability in coaching and developing teams. You will also possess:

  • A demonstrable background in manufacturing and leadership
  • A working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
  • Ability to analyse data to drive performance
  • A determination to succeed and improve
  • A successful track record in mentoring and developing emerging talent
  • A proven continuous improvement skill set
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders within the business
  • Strong H&S mindset and proven ability to balance HSEQ with output
