Supply Staff is on the lookout for dedicated Support Workers who are passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people. At Supply Staff, we’re committed to being there when young people need us the most. Our mission is to help them rebuild trust, restore self-belief, and empower them to lead positive, fulfilling lives. This role is challenging but immensely rewarding. The young people we work with often display highly challenging behaviors and require intensive support. Your involvement could range from just a few hours a week to providing 24/7 care, depending on the individual needs of each young person. To support them effectively, you will need the following skills: * Communication: You must be able to communicate clearly and respectfully with vulnerable young people and collaborate effectively with your team. * Patience: This is essential, as you’ll be working in emotionally demanding environments. * Empathy: You must connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds and age groups. * Office Skills: Competency in report writing, updating computer records, and basic IT tasks is required. * Reliability: As a caregiver for vulnerable children, your consistency and dependability are crucial. * Resilience: The ability to remain calm and recover quickly from challenging situations is key. Qualifications/Experience: * At least 1 year of UK experience working with Looked After Children of secondary school age. * NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable. * The right to work in the UK. * A DBS on the update service or a willingness to apply for one. * The ability to provide references covering at least the last 3 years, with a minimum of 2 professional references. * A comprehensive CV that accounts for all periods since finishing secondary school, including explanations for any gaps in employment over 1 month. * If you have lived or worked overseas for 6 months or more at any time in the last 10 years while aged 18 or older, an overseas police check is required.
