The Opportunity
We are seeking a DevOps/Automation Engineer to join our Automation team.
Supporting the engineering organisation, you’ll be automating infrastructure deployments using Terraform & AWS CDK, building platforms to automate and remediate tasks for our internal teams, and building a culture of observability throughout Airtime..
You’ll be at the forefront of our DevOps & Automation efforts; supporting new starters and existing engineers with new capabilities.
Responsibilities
Building & improving our infrastructure using infrastructure as code with Terraform & AWS CDK.
Provisioning & securing our cloud environments.
Building new platform capabilities & automations to reduce toil for engineers and other teams within Airtime.
Optimising our CI/CD processes.
Coaching engineers on good practices when it comes to observability, operations, DevOps, and infrastructure as code.
Working with internal customers to reduce or remove bottlenecks, improve processes, and enable new capabilities.
Requirements
You will know infrastructure as code, for example: CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK, Pulumi, etc.
You’ll have at least 2 years experience in deploying & operating production workloads on AWS cloud, a certification at associate level or above is good but not required.
You have previous experience in a programming language: javascript/node, typescript, golang, C#, PHP, python, java, etc. as you’ll be building automated scripts or user-facing tools.
Being able to work with a MySQL database would be beneficial but not required. Experience with other SQL or NoSQL databases is also good.
You’ll have experience in operating and diagnosing workloads in production. Including handling outages, tracing problems, troubleshooting, and remediation.
You will know and advocate for observability good practices, and have worked with tools such as DataDog, Splunk, etc.
You understand the benefits and demands of CI/CD, and how to improve processes to reduce lead time.
You have experience and knowledge of securing cloud environments, how to manage secrets, rotate keys, document & mitigate risks, and meet compliance goals.
