Department FunctionThe central Production team provides support, guidance and best practices for the BU production teams to strive towards a consistent delivery of a high-quality product for our customers. The department works closely with internal and external stakeholders to continuously improve quality, efficiency, and the ongoing development of our production-based people. Production has many touchpoints and influences with a range of functions throughout the business from Technical and Design and Health and Safety through to Finance, Sales, Customer Service and Human Resources. The department has a wide range of roles within the business, ranging from site-based apprentices, trades and management through to office-based administration, managers and directors. Continuous professional development is encouraged via our Production Academy, working towards a fully qualified production management workforce. Job summary/PurposeThe Home Finisher (HF) is a qualified multi-skilled tradesperson with an eye for detail. The HF is part of the site team whose responsible for ensuring that the overall finish throughout the home is of a high standard and in-line with our Consistent Quality Approach (CQA), prior to and after, the Home Quality Inspection (HQI) has taken place. The remit of the role will be to work on a home from the stage prior to CML to the first customer visit.   It is the responsibility of the HF to ensure that the homes in which we handover to our customers are of the highest quality and which we can be proud of. The HF will do this by supporting both the Site Manager (SiteM) and Customer Relations Manager (CRM). They will use their multi-trade skills to work on the home and remediate certain items which fall below our standards as directed by the SiteM or CRM, in a timely, safe and efficient manner. The HF will assist in programming trades in for items that that either fall outside of their ability, and/or is covered in the trades scope of works. The HF will also inform the SiteM of any materials required. The HF will also contribute to the continuous improvement of the site, by reporting back reoccurring defects to the SiteM and the responsible person(s), including advising of contractor performance where necessary. By working closely with the CRM, the HF will build their knowledge of commonly identified defects (via the HQI) and work to avoid these on future homes.  The HF will also be required to complete certain items from the first customer visit and provide, where possible, on the spot defect remediation whilst delivering great service to our customers. HF’s maybe required to provide emergency assistance later in the Customer Journey.  Primary ResponsibilitiesMulti-trade experience to ensure homes are complete to Taylor Wimpey CQA standard including: Interior decoration and touch ups are completed  Doors and internal joinery is functioning as expected Plastic surgeon work Final fix plumbing, electrics are complete to a high standard by the relevant trade  Homes are presented to the highest quality standard throughout  Assisting the Site Manager with all aspects of home finishing from prior to CML until Customer Completion (Home Move In) Assisting the CRM with items from the HQI until the first customer visit  Ensuring any materials requiring to be ordered are in place  Communicating and liaising with other departments as required Adherence to Health and Safety requirements always May be asked to demonstrate skills to other HF’s, Apprentices and trainee site staff. Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements​​Excellent Communication Skills, written and verbal   Carpentry Joinery experience Sustained ​attention to detail in every home​ Using initiative to solve problems ensuring our customers are put first ​​​Time Management​​ Patience whilst working in a busy and demanding environment Inclusivity StatementAs a proud Disability Confident Employer, Taylor Wimpey is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce.
