Job role description for Room Leader:
- Support the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager with daily operations and administration.
- Adhere to company policies, Children Act, Ofsted guidelines, and National Standards.
- Ensure the room adheres to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and conducting regular risk assessments.
- Maintain confidentiality and promote the EYFS to create a nurturing environment for children's play, learning, and development.
- Lead and supervise the day-to-day operations of your room.
- Support and mentor nursery staff, helping them to meet their individual development goals.
- Build strong partnerships with families to support learning inside and outside the classroom.
- Conduct age-appropriate activities, follow the curriculum, and use lesson plans and assessment tools effectively.
- Supervise and guide children, promoting positive behaviour and assisting with toilet needs as required.
- Greet children and parents daily, ensuring safety and well-being.
- Represent the nursery professionally and attend staff meetings, training, and community events.
- Maintain accurate records of childrens development, attendance, and any incidents.
As a Room Leader you will have:
- A level 3 or above childcare qualification
- Experience leading or supervising a small team of nursery staff
- Strong planning and organizational abilities
- A passion for childrens education and care, and a commitment to inclusivity
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Enthusiasm to reflect on and constantly improve practice and to lead by example
- An ability to safeguard and protect children
