Conveying Design Engineer Location: Carlisle Salary: Competitive + Benefits Contract: Full-time, Permanent The Role: We are seeking a Conveying Design Engineer to join a global leader in can-making machinery. You'll take approved can line layouts from concept to installation, working on everything from mass production designs to custom one-off solutions. With full manufacturing capabilities in-house, this is a unique opportunity to see your designs come to life. There’s also scope for international travel to existing can plants for upgrades. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with sales and project teams to develop design requirements. Improve existing product lines and processes, identifying efficiencies and cost savings. Use 2D and 3D CAD systems (SolidWorks) to design product lines and visualise concepts. Create technical reports and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams. Manage projects from concept through to commissioning, ensuring on-time delivery within budget.What You’ll Need: Essential: HNC in Engineering or higher. Proficient in SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (laser cutting, folding, etc.) Experience in 3D modelling and technical drawings to ISO standards. Strong communication and project management skills. Willingness to travel abroad (2-3 times a year).Desirable: Degree in Engineering (BA/BSc).
