Salary: £45,000.00-£65,000.00 per year

As they embark on ambitious growth, they are establishing a new R&D facility in Oxfordshire, which will be central to their future product innovation.

The Opportunity

Our client are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design and Innovation Engineer to join a small, dynamic team at our new, cutting-edge R&D facility. This role will focus on early-stage product innovation, where you’ll have significant autonomy to generate new ideas, conceptualize product designs, and drive product development from ideation through prototyping.

With a focus on solving complex challenges, this position allows you to apply first principles thinking to push the boundaries of innovation in healthcare and water quality.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the ideation and innovation process for new product concepts
  • Focus on fluidics, vibration, statics, and dynamics in early-stage design
  • Collaborate with external partners for prototyping and testing
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers
  • Generate patentable ideas that drive future product development
  • Conduct design reviews and lead technical projects

Who You Are

You are a passionate Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong foundation in engineering principles. You thrive in a hands-on, collaborative environment and excel in solving technical challenges creatively.

Key Skills and Experience

  • 5-8 years of mechanical design engineering experience, preferably within consultancy or startup environments
  • Expertise in fluidics, vibration, statics, and dynamics
  • Ability to conceptualize and develop innovative designs with minimal reliance on CAD
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
  • Experience in design reviews and leading technical projects
