Our client is a leading civil engineering company with a proven track record of delivering large-scale infrastructure projects. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join their dynamic team and play a pivotal role in managing their procurement and inventory operations. Key Responsibilities: * Manage the full procurement cycle, including sourcing, purchasing and negotiating with suppliers. * Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels, ensuring materials are available for projects on time and within budget. * Develop and implement inventory management strategies to minimise waste and reduce costs. * Collaborate with project managers, suppliers and internal teams to align purchasing with project schedules. * Ensure compliance with company standards, safety regulations and industry best practices. * Analyse purchasing data to identify trends, forecast demand and improve stock management processes. What We’re Looking For: * Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in purchasing and inventory management, preferably in the civil engineering or construction sectors. * Strong knowledge of supply chain management, stock control processes, and purchasing best practices. * Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships. * Proficiency in inventory management software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Excel). * A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with exceptional organisational skills. * Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a high-volume environment. * Strong communication and problem-solving skills to support project delivery.
