CFO / Senior Finance Officer or Similar SoughtCitizen Zoo is looking for a CFO or similar, to join the team on its board of directors. The organisation is a not-for-profit community interest company (CIC), and works in nature restoration in urban rewilding, primarily based in London but also other parts of Britain. The ideal candidate will have experience of performing financial modelling, organisational budgeting and management, and management reporting and financing. The role is also intended to mentor the CEO closely on how to manage and operate finances more professionally, following the receipt of a £500,000 donation from the Lund Trust in 2024. This exciting opportunity gives the candidate an opportunity to be part of a growing organisation at the forefront of nature conservation and rewilding in London, and welcomes anyone who has an interest in supporting nature, but who comes from a non nature related background.Some of our most significant achievements have been:Reintroducing beavers back to urban London for the first time in four centuriesRestoring Britain's largest grasshopper back to it's historic stronghold in East AngliaRegularly holding the UK's largest rewilding conference in CambridgeBringing locally extinct water voles back to West LondonLaunching the London White Stork ProjectThe candidate will be either a former or current partner at a recognised accounting firm, or previously held or holds a senior financial position in a corporation, with financial management and modelling experience in any relevant sector. The role will involve:Scope, review and planning of project budget budgetsScope and review of annual budgetsScope and review of financial due diligence reports Scope and review of completion accountsScope and review of management reportsMentoring and supporting CEO on financial management and operations All board members hold their positions on a voluntary basis however all board related expenses are reimbursed, and board members are regularly invited to lead on networking events to support organizational growth and project related events and launches, along with meeting high net-worth funders and investors.
