Role Description This is a full-time role for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor at Elvet Chartered Surveyors. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will provide support to the commercial team compromising of the following typical duties: Preparation of feasibility studies, cost plans etc., during the early stages of a project. Assist in the preparation of tender documents, including tender evaluation on behalf of our clients. Assist in the preparation of pricing documents for tender documents e.g. cost analysis, schedule of work, bills of quantities. Post contract financial management of contracts including agreements of interim valuations, assessment and monitoring of variations, financial reports, spend forecast and final accounts. Support colleagues in Contract Administration / Employers Agents role. Whole life cost analysis. Any other duties as may be reasonably required. Site remeasurements. Qualifications Ideally have BSc(Hons) Quantity Surveying degree. We will consider an alternative Bachelors degree if the candidate is willing to complete a Masters in Quantity Surveying. HNC/HND will also be considered with a minimum of two years experience. Exhibit a sound understanding of all Microsoft Office software programs. Ideally the candidate will have experience of BIM Measurement software and CATO. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to work as part of a team or unsupervised. Strong analytical skills and able to demonstrate technical and commercial acumen. Possess a clean driving licence and transport. Knowledge of construction industry standards and practices. An understanding of quantity surveying principles. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Either started or willing to start the process of obtaining chartered membership status to the RICS.
