Head of Discovery and Preclinical Research

RBW are currently partnered with a clinical stage biotech that are developing novel therapeutics for unmet medical needs. Their lead compound is currently in phase 1 clinical trials and they have recently received further funding to progress. This will be the most senior research role within the organisation and is a key hire for the business to take them to the next phase of development. Responsibilities: Be accountable for the discovery and preclinical strategy for the lead asset and preclinical programs Work closely with clinical development to provide non-clinical pharmacology expertise for design of clinical trial protocols Manage activities completed by CROs and research partners. Review and contribute from preclinical perspective to regulatory agency meetings Oversee nonclinical strategy for lead compound to ensure it is compliant with requirements Requirements Educated to PhD in scientific related discipline Proven track record of driving drug discovery projects through IND enabling stage Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and legislation Significant knowledge of CNS disease mechanisms and CNS preclinical models Previous experience within a pharmaceutical or biotech environment leading preclinical strategy
