Purpose of the role
The Distribution Centre Supervisor is responsible for the daily operational requirements of the depot by leading and motivating all teammates to ensure that agreed KPI's and service level agreements are met at all times.
A main focus of your role will be compliance, ensuring standard operating procedures are adhered to and health & safety and transport legislation.
Key Responsibilities
Independently manage daily Depot operations.
Create a "best in class" environment across all disciplines.
Ensure team health and safety, adhering to safe practices and conducting risk assessments.
Manage and raise purchase orders efficiently.
Ensure compliance with transport legislation (DVSA, OLicence).
Standardise jobs to meet KPIs, legislation, and SOPs.
Maintain systems like Verilocation, TMS, Tachomaster, and Fleet Check.
Present and explain information promptly.
Optimise vehicle scheduling to meet customer requirements.
Ensure vehicles are serviced as scheduled.
Liaise with other Depots and departments to ensure smooth operations.
Manage HR activities, including holidays, absence, investigations, and disciplinaries, following Company policies.
Participate in the 'on call' rota.
Support teammate management, engagement, and development.
Communicate effectively at all levels.
Monitor KPIs, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.
Supervise IT systems (e.g., Epods, scanners), report issues, and ensure KPIs are met.
Update Teammate Timecards via Kronos.
Technical and Behavioral Skills
Must be a UK Driving Licence Holder
Working knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation relevant to the workplace
Articulate, numerate and computer literate including the use of Microsoft packages and transport operational system
CPC or an advanced knowledge of transport legislation
Demonstrable leadership and man-management experience and skills
Proven logistics background
Experience of running multi temperature vehicles
Experienced approach to prioritisation of daily tasks and keeping a cool head under pressure
Experience in medical/pharmaceutical environment desirable
Engages in collaboration with team members and stakeholders to refine and implement innovative solutions.
Collaborates with the team to enhance the overall client experience.
Foster a harmonious and engaging environment, enabling teammates to be authentic and have fun.
Ensure context and information is provided to teammates, to give a timely response to queries and suggestions.
Actively promotes and encourages teammates to deliver high quality performance
