MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE The Production Manager will organise and oversee the manufacturing of all timber based products. They will be responsible for the safe and effective running of all manufacturing and logistics operations. This includes compliance with all Health and Safety regulations and requirements, the quality of output, cost control, and on time client delivery expectations Production Manager Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Production department, including production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.  Ensuring compliance with and executing daily, weekly, monthly, and annual production schedules and master production plan. Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, productivity, and profitability targets are consistently met or exceeded. Assisting in procuring required production equipment and taking responsibility for its maintenance. Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that manufactured products meet or exceed customer expectations and industry standards. Work closely with cross-functional teams, to ensure seamless coordination and communication throughout the Production process. Identify areas for process improvement and liaise with the Production Director to implement strategies to optimise production workflows, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency. Manage and develop a high-performing Production team, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management. Communicating in both verbal and written form, with customers in relation to on-time delivery dates. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, industry standards, and quality management systems, such as ISO certifications. Striving to reduce expense and increase productivity across all product lines. Maintaining hygienic conditions for both employees and the production facility itself. Implementing all the company’s procedures and policies. Communicating any problems or obstacles to Senior Management. In conjunction with HR Department, ensure adequate and appropriate training and coaching is delivered to reportable production employees. Implementing safety, health, environment, and quality requirements. Manager of Production Required Skills Previous experience as a Production Manager. Strong production and manufacturing activities. Experience with production cost control, safety, and quality. Basic understanding of lean manufacturing tools. Proficient in Microsoft Excel to support work-in-progress and production schedules Excellent verbal and written communication skills to both internal and external customers. Strong leadership and management abilities, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues and implement effective solutions. Proficient in using Production software systems and tools. Strong understanding of quality management systems and best practices, such as ISO 9001. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels. Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and practices within the Production industry. Ability to adapt to fast-paced and changing environments, and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Good knowledge of Production processes, technologies, and best practices
