Planning/Urban Design Assistant Job Title: Urban Designer Location: Berkshire Department: Urban Planning and Design Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent Job Overview: We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Urban Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating sustainable, innovative, and inclusive urban environments. You will work collaboratively with architects, planners, engineers, and other stakeholders to design spaces that enhance the quality of urban living while addressing environmental, social, and economic challenges. Key Responsibilities: ·Urban Design and Planning: Develop innovative urban design solutions for a variety of projects, including master plans, public spaces, housing developments, and regeneration schemes. Design layouts that blend aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability. ·Research and Analysis: Conduct site analysis and research to understand the social, cultural, and environmental contexts of projects. Utilize this information to inform design strategies that meet local community needs and align with planning regulations. ·Community Engagement: Participate in community consultation and stakeholder meetings to gather input, present design concepts, and ensure that designs reflect the aspirations of local residents and businesses. ·Collaboration: Work closely with architects, planners, landscape architects, and engineers to integrate urban design into larger development schemes. Collaborate with public authorities and private developers to ensure project success. ·Sustainability: Incorporate sustainable design principles into all aspects of the urban design process, including green infrastructure, sustainable transportation, and energy-efficient land use. ·Technical Drawings and Visualization: Produce high-quality technical drawings, diagrams, and 3D visualizations using software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Revit.
