Civils Operative
Working Pattern: 40 hrs per week
Location: Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire NG22
Via is currently looking for a Civils Operative to join our Electrical Team based at our Head Office in Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire.
You will support the Electrical Operations team to undertake excavation, ducting and re instatement works.
The Job
Key areas of responsibility will include:
Carry out excavation/re instatement works, installing ducting, posts and columns.
Comply with all nhss8, Health & Safety & Environmental accreditations, whilst maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy work environment for colleagues and customers.
Ensure that all work carried out in is accordance with drawings, specification so that they are completed efficiently, effectively, safely and delivered within target.
Ensure all paperwork and electronic data is accurately processed, for it to be submitted to supervisor for final approval.
Be responsible for operating vehicles, plant, tools and equipment ensuring correct use and unnecessary damage, comply with daily routine checks, recording to legal requirements and reporting any damages or defects found.
Provide a flexible approach to working times / days depending on the needs of the business, and support work on an out of hours emergency call out rota to minimise disruption to the network.
The Person
Mainly you will be excited to be a vital part of our Electrical Team but there are just a few other things wed like from you:
Full Driving Licence (L.G.V advantage).
Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation including Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
Hold industry recognised qualifications; New Roads and Street Works Act, First Aid, Level 2 NVQ Diploma in highway electrical systems, (MEWP/ Lorry Loader advantage).
Knowledge / experience in the use of plant, transport, materials and operations associated with Highway Electrical Installation and maintenance activities.
Ability to work at heights.
Able to understand drawings, follow verbal and written instructions, and to work as part of a team completing works efficiently and safely, including basic IT skills.
Flexibility to learn new skills and look for continuous improvement in service delivery
