SONI Paid Work Placement/Internship SONI (System Operator for Northern Ireland) is Northern Irelands Transmission System Operator (TSO). What can SONI offer We are offering paid placements for Engineering, IT, Energy Policy/ Regulation and HR students based in Castlereagh House, Belfast. The placement is up to 11 months and typically runs from July/August 2025 to June 2026. This will be a challenging and varied placement that offers students the opportunity to apply your learning to the workplace and gain valuable practical work experience. You will be supported throughout your placement by a mentor. You will also receive regular feedback on your progress. SONI is a friendly place to work, offering an excellent placement with highly supportive and informative staff. You will gain experience in different areas of the business and there are great facilities with lots of social activities on offer. What do I need to apply? Successful candidates should be studying a degree or masters in engineering, IT, energy policy-related discipline and HR. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate evidence of the following competencies: Teamwork ability to build and maintain key working relationships. Effective communicator expressing information & ideas to others in a clear and concise manner (verbal and written). Developed numeracy and analytical skills.
