Head of Education & Human Rights

Head of Education & Human Rights UK - Some travel to London. Remote/Hybrid Salary – Competitive Simpson Millar is currently looking for a Head of Department to join our award winning, Chambers Ranked Public Law and Human Rights Department ideally based in London however , we will consider applications from outside the London area. You will be joining an established and friendly team who do a mix of public law, community care, claims against public authorities and inquest work including representing victims of trafficking, vulnerable migrants, unaccompanied minors, looked after children and care leavers in civil claims and judicial review claims. This is a senior role in within the Public Law practice area, which will provide input and insight into the development and delivery of strategy for the department, wider practice area and overall Firm. You will provide leadership to a team of Solicitors / Legal Executives and paralegals/ assistants of all ranges of experience and ability, from Grade A to Grade D. You will be responsible for the performance, technical and operational running and the ongoing growth and development of this nationally recognised department, delivering performance based on KPI’s and commercial goals set for the financial year and beyond. Ensuring ongoing development of team members, managing of performance to achieve revenue targets. You will have strong experience in Judicial Review, leading and managing a team of fee earners and support staff in a robust, professional and competent way.
