Overview:
Joneshouse Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager for a childrens home in Locks Heath. This home specialises in providing care and support for children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties EBD. As the Registered Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of care, safety, and support for the children, while also leading and inspiring a team of care professionals.
Leadership & Management:
- Provide strong leadership to the care team, ensuring a supportive and positive environment for both staff and children.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the childrens home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and best practices.
- Develop and implement care plans that are tailored to the individual needs of each child, focusing on their emotional, behavioural, and educational development.
- Ensure that the home operates within its budget and that resources are used efficiently.
Safeguarding & Compliance:
- Ensure the safety and welfare of all children in the home, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
- Maintain full compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and standards, including those set by Ofsted and other regulatory bodies.
- Prepare the home for inspections and audits, ensuring that all records and documentation are up to date and accurate.
Staff Development & Training:
- Recruit, train, and develop a skilled team of care professionals, providing ongoing support and supervision.
- Conduct regular staff appraisals, set clear performance objectives, and create development plans to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging staff to share best practices and contribute to the development of the home.
Child-Centred Care:
- Foster a nurturing and supportive environment that promotes the emotional and psychological well-being of the children.
- Work closely with external agencies, schools, and healthcare providers to ensure a holistic approach to each child's care.
- Engage with families and guardians to involve them in the care process and maintain positive relationships.
Crisis Management:
- Handle any emergencies or crises that arise, ensuring the safety and well-being of both children and staff.
- Implement and review risk assessments and behaviour management plans to mitigate potential risks.
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Registered Manager in a childrens home, ideally with a focus on EBD.
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding policies, and relevant childcare legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, resources, and staffing effectively.
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
- Valid DBS check on the update service.

- Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and external agencies.
- High level of organisational skills, with a methodical approach to planning and problem-solving.
