The Role: The main responsibility will be to build and deploy API's, you will be expected to create with a product mindset as our end user experience is paramount. Build and deploy APIs for interconnected services Design APIs for clients and partners (authentication / versioning / documentation) Design and develop ETL pipelines using Python and AWS services Help prioritise our backlog with a balance between short-term deliverables and longer-term investment in our technology Effectively communicate trade-offs to other areas of the business Collaborate with the whole development team to influence system architecture and feature design Design, test, and deploy new features in a continuous and iterative manner Work autonomously on projects from start to finish, and be responsible for the code you write. You build it, you run it. Key Requirements Several years experience as a backend engineer Experience with AWS: ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, SNS/SQS Strong testing practices, especially Test Driven Development Experience with Enterprise Integration Patterns An end-to-end systems-mindset; we are building a product that should grow itself and require minimal intervention from our team Experience working in a close knit, collaborative, rapidly growing team The ability to work in a highly agile environment, using CI/CD practices A passion for creating products that are user-friendly and contribute to our product-led growth strategy A knack for identifying good UX Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication Nice to have: Experience with Event Driven Architecture and System architecture
