Production Planner
Location: Milton Keynes
Our client, a leading food manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Production Planner to join their fast-paced site in Milton Keynes. Working within a close-knit team of 8, this role plays a key part in ensuring efficient production plans are in place, allowing operations to run smoothly and ensuring customers are served on time and in full.
The Role
As a Production Planner, you will be responsible for creating and managing daily production plans that meet customer demands. You ll also adjust plans on the fly to account for any production challenges or shortages in materials, coordinating with different teams to ensure the business operates seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop daily production plans to achieve 100% service levels for customers.
- Ensure tasks from the Core Activities Tracker are completed, escalating issues as needed.
- Adjust plans based on production issues or material shortages.
- Collaborate with Engineering to schedule machine servicing and downtime.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure effective rotation to minimise waste.
- Liaise with Area Managers to ensure adequate resources for production.
- Stay informed of product launches, changes, promotions, and de-lists to keep plans accurate.
What We re Looking For
We are looking for someone with solid experience in a Planning or Scheduling role, ideally within the food industry. Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Office and inventory management systems, are essential, as well as excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with multiple departments.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in production planning, preferably in food manufacturing.
- Strong numeracy and IT skills (MS Office, inventory systems).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-starter with great attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
