Job Summary: As a Key Account Manager at EPEX SPOT SE, you will play a strategic role in implementing sales strategies designed to achieve high customer satisfaction. Reporting to the Head of Sales - Central and Western Europe, you will be the primary point of contact for clients and prospects, managing a diverse portfolio of key accounts and fostering trustful relationships. Your primary focus will be on the UK and Ireland, where you will work to develop new key accounts and maintain existing ones.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Client Relationship Management and Retention:

- Sustain, strengthen, and broaden relationships with existing clients, acting as the primary contact point.

- Drive client retention, manage fee renewals, ensure high satisfaction levels, and conduct regular business reviews.

2. Sales Objectives and Market Expansion:

- Attain sales targets amidst increased competition, identifying and securing new key accounts in the UK and Ireland.

- Assist in developing new customer areas and services within the energy industry, generating revenue from new segments.

3. Market Analysis and Opportunity Identification:

- Conduct market analysis to identify and develop strategies for new business opportunities.

- Collaborate with marketing and other departments to align sales goals and maximize client value.

4. Internal Projects and Onboarding:

- Support and contribute to internal projects, especially with European Commodity Clearing (ECC), to enhance customer experience.

- Facilitate the onboarding process for new members, ensuring efficient integration and satisfaction.

5. Customer Engagement and Presentations:

- Organize and participate in customer events to foster engagement and relationship building.

- Prepare and deliver compelling client presentations, developing tailored templates and enhancing team presentation skills.


Work Organization:

- Preferably based in the United Kingdom, though other EPEX location may be considered.

- The role requires business trips across Europe.


Key Requirements:

Hard Skills:

- Sales and Key Account Management: Proven experience in managing key accounts and achieving sales targets within a competitive environment.

- Client Relationship Management: Expertise in sustaining and strengthening client relationships, driving client retention, and managing fee renewals.

- Project Management: Ability to support and contribute to internal projects, including collaboration with European Commodity Clearing (ECC) and other departments.

Soft Skills:

- Customer and Result-Oriented: Strong focus on customer satisfaction and a drive to achieve challenging sales targets.

- Effective Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to conduct persuasive meetings and deliver effective client presentations.

- Self-Motivation and Work Principles: Highly self-motivated with strong work principles, entrepreneurial spirit, and organizational skills.

- Relationship Building: Ability to develop strong and respectful relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

- Teamwork and Collaboration: A team player who can also work independently, demonstrating effective prioritization and cross-team collaboration skills.


Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in economics, customer relations, business school, or equivalent.

- Affinity or strong interest in energy, exchanges, markets, or the energy transition.

- Minimum of 2 years of working experience in key account management within a competitive, multicultural environment. Candidates with over 4 years of experience may be considered for a Senior Key Account Manager position.

- Knowledge of European Power Markets.


Language Skills:

- Fluent in English

- Proficiency in other European languages is appreciated.
