Lightfoots LLP are looking for an experienced Legal Cashier to join their busy and friendly accounts team at the head office in Thame, Oxfordshire. The role works together with other legal cashiers in the team to ensure the smooth and effective running of the department and closely works with fee earners and support roles within the Firm to process finance transactions.About the teamThe Accounts team consists of Legal Cashiers who work with and report to the Head Cashier and Finance Team Leader. The team work together to support each other in a fast paced, busy environment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Ensuring compliance with the Solicitors' Accounts RulesDaily banking including using online banking facilities, transferring funds between accounts, making electronic payments and recording receiptsHandling general enquiries and resolving queries (internal only)Reconciling bank, petty cash and general ledgersProcessing of client Billing accounts receivable and issuing client and office chequesPaying interest on client account moniesAssisting with paying suppliers via the online banking systemGeneral administration and housekeeping of files and ledgersContacting bank with queries and cheque cancellationsReconciliation of control accounts as requiredSKILLS & EXPERIENCE Experience in general accounting procedures in compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules in legal practiceCredit control advantageousAccuracy & attention to detail is essentialMethodical approach to workExcellent communication face to face and telephoneProficient IT skills - Word, ExcelAbility to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlinesCommitted team-workerSOS Practice Manager knowledge advantageous but not essentialVisualfiles CMS knowledge advantageous but not essentialWhat you get in returnFriendly and supportive team with development opportunitiesHealthcare Cash PlanPrivate Medical cover and enhanced pension schemeDiscount and savings on shopping, restaurantsLearning & Development opportunitiesDiscretionary annual bonus schemeWellbeing Policy & ProgrammePaid Volunteering daysAs a Disability Confident employer, we promote diversity and provide equal opportunities for all individuals.
