Role Overview:
We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer with an automation mindset to join the infrastructure team in the central London office. This team is crucial to the technology that underpins the entire operation, and you will have a direct impact on the company's success. You will work directly with user groups and collaborate across all business areas to deliver solutions.
The team of engineers own the diverse technology stack end-to-end, constantly seeking incremental improvements, new technologies, and innovative working methods to evolve the platform and maintain a competitive edge. From scaling to accommodate the vast data volumes driving the research process to enhancing the reliability and speed of rapidly evolving application estate, the focus is on automation and efficiency at scale.
Responsibilities:
Collaboratively architect a robust and secure Windows and storage platform capable of handling vast data volumes and the load of the diverse technology estate.
Create, implement, and promote the "Infrastructure as Code" mindset and best practices across the environment.
Automate tasks to eliminate the toil associated with large, distributed systems.
Assist in migrating to more cloud-native, distributed applications.
Work both individually and collaboratively to find new ways to improve the reliability, availability, and performance of the infrastructure.
Requirements:
Proficiency in scripting/coding in one or more languages (PowerShell, Python, Golang, Shell, etc.).
Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, etc.).
Extensive knowledge of Windows systems, including Active Directory and Exchange.
Experience with large-scale SAN and NAS storage technologies.
Familiarity with network technologies and server virtualization.
Broad knowledge of Azure and AWS technologies.
Understanding of observability systems (Prometheus, ELK, LGTM, PagerDuty).
