Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Islington Salary: Competitive Start Date: September 2024 Contract Type: Long Term
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our vibrant and inclusive primary school in Islington as an SEN Teaching Assistant.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with special educational needs across various year groups.
SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies. Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt and differentiate lesson materials for SEN students. Support students in developing social, emotional, and communication skills. Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents. Help to create a safe and positive learning environment for all students. SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role. A strong understanding of various special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. A genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional development of children. Relevant qualifications in childcare or education are desirable. Please keep in mind that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the updated service.
