DevOps-SRE Lead Engineer

£85k-£120k base salary plus bonuses
We are hiring on behalf of a leading financial institution committed to creating products that help clients grow their businesses, supporting millions of customers across the UK.
As a DevOps-SRE Lead Engineer, you’ll divide your time between leading, mentoring, and hands-on engineering. You will build and maintain large-scale, fault-tolerant systems, focusing on reliability, scalability, and architectural simplicity. You'll optimize existing Azure systems, develop new Azure PaaS and IaaS solutions, and drive automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers in DevOps and SRE practices.
- Solve complex technical challenges with coding, system design, and forensic analysis.
- Automate processes and build new solutions on Azure.
- Develop and manage Kubernetes services, container security, and microservice architectures.
- Implement SRE principles, manage code quality, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud security.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proficiency in at least two languages (e.g., .Net, Java, Python, Go, Bash/Shell).
- Proven technical leadership experience.
- Extensive DevOps experience at a senior engineering level.
- Strong knowledge of Azure (AKS, Key Vault, APIM) and DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, Nexus, Git).
- Experience with Kubernetes and Istio (AKS is an advantage).
