IT Cloud & Infrastructure Architect

Purpose of the Role This exciting remote based IT Cloud & Network Architect opportunity has arisen to join our Technology team to lead on all low level and high-level designs for Infrastructure services. You will provide architecture direction and be the subject matter expert for Infrastructure, collaborating with other architects on projects and BAU workstreams. There will be a need to constantly review new and emerging infrastructure technologies, providing recommendations as part of wider road mapping strategies. What you will do This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Collaborating with your Line Manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on the following and more: Scope, plan, document and implement technologies as required to the highest standards. Produce low level and high-level design documentation for all project workstreams. Lead as a Network technical subject matter expert, providing guidance and knowledge to the IT Operations. Deliver customer and stakeholder management to all those with an interest in any works undertaken. Research Cloud and Network solutions through internal and external knowledge base as needed. Liaise with business, vendors and other IT personnel for the progression of change works. Escalate issues with accurate documentation to suitable technical expert or vendor, when required. Create knowledge articles for project solutions to be used for future support Provide suggestions for continual improvement. Service-related focus with the ability to place yourself in the position of the customer to understand their concerns and issues Who we are looking for This is an opportunity for a technology expert who has an eye for detail, critical thinking and problem-solving skills who is willing to work collaboratively but also guide others as required. You will need to be pro-active, resourceful and able to work under pressure to meet challenging deadlines. We are looking for someone has: Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code – Terraform/Ansible. Excellent knowledge and experience of multi cloud technologies. General on-Premise Active Directory and Microsoft Entra knowledge and experience. Networking knowledge and experience, with LAN, WAN and data communication systems, with emphasis on SDWAN technologies. Cloud network and Azure infrastructure monitoring knowledge. Branch office network design incorporating ISE technologies, circuit provision design and sizing. Solid foundation in security to design and manage secure network systems effectively. Solid understanding of IAM principles, including user authentication and authorization, vital for controlling access to network resources. Solid understanding of storage technologies to effectively design and manage network infrastructures that support data storage and retrieval. General M365 knowledge and experience of network integration with its services. Ability to analyse infrastructure, highlighting area of risk and put forward suggestions for systems improvements.
