If you are a procurement manager with strong experience operating in the Defence industry who has felt a bit stagnant in your current role then this could be the perfect next step for you!
Joining this leading defence consultancy as a Principal Procurement Consultant will give you the opportunity to operate across some of the largest defence procurement programmes in the country working with both the MoD and Private Sector contractors.
And unlike, many of the industry contractors, progression is not dependent on the role above you opening up, but purely centred around your own performance and delivery. This means that within circa. 18 months of joining you will likely be stepping up to an Associate Director position!
As Principal Consultant - Defence Procurement, you will : -
- Lead on key procurement workstreams for some of the largest defence programmes in the country. These could be across a range of category areas dependent on your expertise, whether that be Direct Commodities, Construction & Infrastructure or Subcontracts
- Gain exposure to both critical MoD procurement projects and private sector client projects, helping to broaden your experience. This consultancy also has teams that operate outside the defence industry so if you wanted to further diversify your skillset that opportunity is there once you get your foot in the door!
- Have the opportunity to develop and coach high-potential junior team members who will be working alongside you as part of your project team.
Principal Consultant - Defence Procurement, required background: -
- MUST HOLD OR BE ELIGIBLE FOR SECURITY CLEARANCE (Must have lived in the UK for at least the last 5 years)
- Experience leading on end-to-end procurement projects in the defence industry is a MUST
- Exposure to Construction / Infrastructure procurement projects is beneficial, as is experience working with NEC contracts
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills required as this will be a customer facing role
- CIPS / MCIPS is preferred but not essential.
