Software Developer - Thermofluids Formula 1 - Northampton – 6 month contract Hybrid – 2 days a week on site This amazing long term contract role for a Software Developer is a unique opportunity to showcase your expertise and skills with a world leading Formula 1 organisation. You will be a key member within the team and the person that secures this position will be crucial to the success of this dynamic company on its F1 projects. The duration of this contract is estimated to be 6 months minimum and will be inside IR35. What you will do * Deliver high quality, maintainable software solutions within the required time constraints that meet the needs of the Thermofluids teams * Work closely with Thermofluids Engineering stakeholders to understand their workflows and translate these into requirements for software solutions * Work collaboratively with a cross-functional group of software developers from Thermofluids and IT * Drive improvement in the overall approach to Thermofluids software solutions by proactively contributing to software development best practices, tooling and culture What you will need to be skilled at: * Designing, developing and testing software solutions * Object-oriented software development and testing in an agile context * Developing REST APIs and Microservices and deploying to Kubernetes * Software development practices, technologies, systems and services, e.g. Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines * Problem solving * Written and verbal communication * Self-starting, attention to detail and task completion Have experience of: * Modern software development practices, languages and scripts, including C# and Python * Relational Databases, e.g. MS SQL Server, Postgres * Message Queues, e.g. RabbitMQ and Kafka * Engineering solutions, their deployment and use Demonstrate knowledge of: * Other software development languages and frameworks such as Blazer, Rust, PowerShell etc. * HPC and associated technologies e.g. Linux and PBS * Engineering processes and tools used for design and development of F1 Power Unit e.g. MATLAB, CAD, simulation and dyno testing Hold these qualifications: * Computer science / IT / business / technology degree or equivalent * Desirable: certification, formal information security certification Be: * Diligent and show attention to detail * Passionate about delivering engineering software * Capable to show a growth mind-set * Flexible and open * A team player * Success driven, capable to perform under pressure and overcome challenges * Target and deadline driven What you will get: * Long term contract at a leading F1 racing team. * Opportunity to join a multiple F1 championship winning engineering business with state-of-the-art facilities including onsite subsidised restaurant, gym and parking. * Easy access to site, with some work at home (not 100%) Applications: Please apply with updated CV and details of current rate/salary and notice period.
