Production Engineer

Production Engineer (Lathe Department) Location: Mildenhall, Suffolk A selection of day and night shifts currently available Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 Benefits: * 20 days holiday + 8 bank holidays, standard pension scheme, formal training and development, company social events, staff canteen, holiday allowance increases with length of service. Our client in Mildenhall is on the lookout for a skilled and passionate Engineer to become a key player in their dynamic team. If you have hands-on experience with a variety of tool room and workshop machinery, and a particular expertise in Lathe Machines—especially Multi-spindle models—this could be the perfect opportunity for you. We’re particularly interested in candidates with a strong foundation from an engineering apprenticeship, who are eager to bring their knowledge and expertise to a forward-thinking environment. Skills & Experience: * Experience in using a range of tool room/work shop based machinery. * Familiar with Lathe machines, preferably multi-spindle. * 5-10 years experience working in a production environment. * Experienced in working on a shift basis. * A good mechanical aptitude. * The ability to diagnose faults with machine wear and component quality. * Self-disciplined, self-motivated and the ability to work as part of a team. * Familiar with ISO 9001:2015. * Excellent communication skills. Duties: * Assist the department head in maintaining product input in the Lathe area department. * Investigate and offer suggestions for process improvements and/or cost reductions. * Assist Lathe Machine production when necessary to maintain production output. * Assist in the training of new staff and progression training of existing staff. * Diagnose faults and repair Lathe machines and associated equipment. * Complete and update tasks using a maintenance based software. * Assist with any other requirements associated with the Lathe area department.
