JMC Aviation are working with a MRO company based near Cardiff, looking to recruit an Avionics Technician to join their team. This company is currently in the midst of building a global reputation for efficient, cost effective quality work as one of the few independent UK-based MRO's. As well as maintenance support, the company also operate as a training provider for commercial pilots. With the goal for continued growth, the company are looking to expand their team, with a position for a new Avionics Technician available. This is a Permanent Position based near Cardiff, working Seasonal Shift: Monday - Thursday 07:00 - 18:15, Friday 07:00 - 14:30 Salary and Benefits:

The Role: You will be responsible for assisting the assisting the Bay Manager / Engineers, in taking a proactive approach to tasks across both avionic and airframe disciplines as the situation demands, to ensure the smooth running of the operation, whilst meeting the Part 145 maintenance requirements, our internal processes and procedures and our Customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Other duties involve:

Carrying out maintenance of aircraft avionics and electrical systems, including system fault finding and functional testing as defined by customer requirements/list of work. Working in accordance with company procedures, giving due consideration to Human Factors philosophy, using only correctly maintained and uniquely identified personal tooling, company tooling and calibrated test equipment. Managing internal and external relationships with customers, team members and support departments, taking an active role to mentor colleagues. Ensuring correct completion of all maintenance paperwork and forms in a timely manner before the end of the shift and in accordance with all aspects of the MOE Part 2 and company procedures. Informing Engineers of any adverse issues affecting safety, productivity and progression of work. Ensuring any unused material is correctly processed and returned to Stores when practicable, following correct disposal instructions at all times. Ensuring correct storage of aircraft components and tooling including blanking, labelling and protection in accordance with Company procedures. Maintaining standard engineering practices regarding general husbandry, workplace cleanliness and FOD prevention measures. Recommending improvements in working conditions, practices and procedures that may result in an improvement in safety, efficiency and productivity. Assisting with hangar facility maintenance and general tasks. Any other tasks and duties as reasonably required in accordance with the needs of the business. Responsible for working in accordance with the company framework and compliance with the organisation's policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of the company Skills and experience required:

Must be eligible to live and work in the UK Experience within a Part 145 (or equivalent) organisation (this can include time served during an apprenticeship) essential GCSE qualifications at grade C or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English Language or an Aviation or - Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship (or equivalent). Ability to use recognised aircraft documentation, including Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives, Be able to read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics with regard to aircraft avionic and electrical systems. Be proficient in the use of the Electrical Standards Practical Manual (ESPM) and in using specialist tooling. Demonstrable experience of fault finding and modification work.
