Our client, a leading organization in the BFSI sector based in Birmingham/ Sunderland, UK, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer with a strong background in Java. This role is based in Birmingham/ Sunderland and offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in a dynamic and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- System integration - Work closely with various teams to integrate third-party applications and APIs.
- Performance optimization - Identify bottlenecks and improve application performance.
- Code reviews and mentorship - Conduct code reviews and provide guidance to junior developers.
- Technical documentation - Create and maintain technical documentation for new and existing applications.
- Troubleshooting - Investigate and resolve technical issues across development, testing, and production environments.
Required Qualifications:
- Education - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience - Minimum of 5 years of experience in Java development, with a strong focus on the BFSI sector.
Technical Skills –
- We Are Looking For bachelor’s degree in computer science (or equivalent work experience)
- Demonstrable core Java (JDK 8 and above) development experience (solid understanding of Core Java concepts and design patterns)
- Object-oriented design/development
- Experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, etc.)
- RESTful API’s and web services
- RDBMS experience (DB2 preferred, write/analyse complex queries with multi-table joins and aggregate functions)
- Understanding of Agile methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of financial markets
