Key Responsibilities:
Community Building:
- Engage with the developer community across the UK and Europe, with a focus on university students, to drive interest and adoption of the programming language.
- Organize and participate in events, such as hackathons, coding bootcamps, workshops, and meetups, both on-campus and online, to foster a sense of community and provide hands-on experience with the language.
- Build and maintain relationships with university faculties, student organizations, and other academic partners to integrate the programming language into curricula and extracurricular activities.
Content Creation & Advocacy:
- Develop and distribute high-quality content, including tutorials, blog posts, videos, and documentation, that educates and inspires developers and students to use the programming language.
- Act as the voice of the developer and student communities within the company, providing feedback to the product and engineering teams to influence the language's development and feature set.
- Present at conferences, university events, and industry meetups to advocate for the programming language and showcase its capabilities.
Strategic Collaboration:
- Work closely with the headquarters and regional teams to align promotional activities with global strategies and adapt them to local needs.
Required:
List details of Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications needed to do the job:
- Comprehensive academic background in Computer Science or relevant subjects.
- Experience in developer relations, community management, or advocacy roles.
- Demonstrated knowledge of programming languages, software development practices, and computing technologies.
- A good understanding of the UK and EU developer ecosystem.
- Self-motivated, well organised and a good team player.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Be able to travel to Europe and worldwide.
- Mandarin speaking strongly preferred.
