Production Supervisor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Supervisor to join a large manufacturing company located in Derby (near Junction 25, M1). This position will be working Monday to Thursday, Days Based supporting the Production Manager with all aspects of daily manufacturing and continuous improvement activities. My client has developed trusted brands and capabilities either through acquisition or organic growth.Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Production Supervisor you will be manging a team of 30+ employees with full accountability of daily performance including KPI deliverables, you will also be responsible for making key production decisions in the absence of the Production manager.You will have responsibility of all areas of the production facility and give clear and consistent information to other team members.You will monitor and support new team members and help to identify training and development.Support the production team in completing production tasks and deliver shift handover process including all shift reporting documentation.Work closely with the Quality team to manage any product defects including implementing root cause analysis and corrective actions.Monitor and manage absence and lateness levels, disciplinary matters, holiday allocation and sickness cover.Key RequirementsTo apply for Production Supervisor (Team Leader) position located in Derby you will ideally have 5+ years Team Leader or Supervisory experience with the ability to drive manufacturing improvements; Experience working within a manufacturing, chemical or fast paced working environment.Strong influence ability who can effectively communicate at all levels of the organisation.Strong leadership skills and focused on training & development of production employees.Ability to work in a manufacturing industry and the pressures associated with high volume manufacturing.Forward thinking and pro-active approachPositive and professional attitude with the ability to motivate a team.Knowledge of risk assessment procedures.Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, word, PowerPoint).Excellent planning and organisational skills.Key Benefits PackageProduction Supervisor working Monday to Thursday.Days Based with a base salary of £30,000 to £40,000.Contributory Pension Scheme.Free on-site parking.Excellent working environment.Subsidised Gym Membership.Employee Assistance Programme.Training and Development Programmes.
