Job Title: Finance ManagerContract type: Part-time, Fixed Term Contract 12m (with potential to go permanent)Working Pattern: 3 days/ 22.5 hours per weekLocation: Holborn, hybrid 2 days per week in office / 1 day work from home. Start date: Immediate start Reports to: Finance Director Salary: £30,000- £40,000 full-time equivalent, prorated to 22.5 hours per week (dependent on experience).How to Apply: Email a CV and short cover note to [email protected], see below for more details.THE ROLE:Novel are looking for a part time Finance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Finance team, you will be instrumental in supporting the Finance Director and keeping the department running efficiently and smoothly, while supporting the business. This is a varied role in a thriving audio production company where you will be working primarily across processing of supplier invoices and staff expenses, payment runs but also including basic bookkeeping, month end reconciliations and ad hoc reporting. There will also be other ad hoc tasks as required. We operate a hybrid working mode and you’ll be in the office 2 days a week using your interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills, acting as an internal point of contact for all accounts queries. You will also manage the accounts inbox responding to queries from suppliers, operations and the wider business and ensuring invoices are processed on time. This role is suitable for someone who's AAT qualified or is a finance and accounting graduate with at least 2 year experience, or someone who is working towards an accounting qualification. Experience in a production company is advantageous but not necessary. What's key is someone with the right attitude, an interest in the production environment and a willingness to learn in a fast paced environment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Carrying out day to day finance and accounting operations as directed by the FD Accurately code and process supplier invoices, ensuring accuracyReconcile supplier statements and address discrepanciesPayment runs (including supplier, VAT, PAYE, payroll)Set up new supplier and client codes and follow correct administrative proceduresMaintain the approval matrix for invoices (ApprovalMax)Preparation of month end reconciliationsPreparation of bank reconciliationsProcessing month end journalsAssist the FD in the weekly, monthly and quarterly processesManage the accounts email address and respond to enquiries as efficientlyGeneral departmental administrationPERSON SPECIFICATION AND SKILLS:Thorough knowledge of the purchase to pay processUnderstanding of the basics of accountingAccuracy and eye for detailGreat interpersonal skills and strong organisational skills Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to relay information to non finance teams clearly Discretion and diligenceMotivated and proactively reports back to line manager as appropriateA conscientious, methodical and meticulous approach to your dutiesFluency with Excel (required) and Quickbooks (required)AAT qualified, or a graduateHOW TO APPLY:If you're passionate about supporting teams across the finance function we’d love to hear from you.
