Overview Contract: Part time: 0.6FTE – 0.8FTE on a 2-year fixed term contract. Terms: Up to £43,000 pro rata depending on experience Location: Remote, working at home online using our workplace management system, with occasional UK travel to meetings and events (travelling expenses and subsistence paid) Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer The position is available immediately on a part time basis. We would be happy to discuss arrangements for flexible working, but you must be available for at least 0.6FTE or 22.5 hours per week. Background The EPIC Restart Foundation empowers people to restart positive lives after gambling harm. We are an independent charity founded in lived experience of gambling harm. We are driven by our passion to ensure people are supported to sustain long term recovery and lead more fulfilling, purposeful lives. We work closely with people in recovery, the National Gambling Support Network and expert delivery partners to pioneer innovative approaches that are empowering people to rebuild their lives after gambling harm. We also build crucial awareness of recovery support pathways and break down the stigma around gambling addiction. This is a great time to be joining the EPIC Restart Foundation as we expand our team to meet increasing demand for our support. This is a new and exciting senior leadership role that supports the ongoing growth and development of EPIC Restart Foundation. We are seeking a Head of Operations to work with the CEO and senior leadership team to manage a broad scope of operational functions, including workplace governance, people management, digital support, data and risk management. The Head of Operations will be a collaborative and hands-on professional with project and people management skills, a track record of operational change management, able to inspire colleagues in new ways of working that ensures the efficient day-to-day running of the Foundation – driving system, quality and process improvements. You will be an excellent communicator, able to manage wide ranging operational responsibilities and committed to creating a people-first, digitally enabled environment. You will lead our people management function, ensuring our culture continues to be supportive and empowering whilst also delivering excellence in performance, training and L&D. You will be comfortable in managing operations and data in the Microsoft Office 365 cloud, troubleshooting where needed and working with our external IT advisors to ensure the smooth running of our IT and technology. You will have a good working knowledge of charity governance, safeguarding, GDPR and risk management and you will apply this knowledge to develop policy, practice, guidance and resources for the team. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure all support functions and organisational process improvements are carried out in a timely and cost-effective way, and act as a conduit to specialist external support in HR, IT and Legal. Over 70% of our team and trustees have experienced gambling harm either directly or indirectly. Lived experience is not an essential requirement for this role, but you must be a compassionate professional – willing to support people in recovery and sensitive to their needs, as well as being passionate about making a difference and excited by the opportunity to transform lives after gambling harm.
