Vehicle Technician - Ashford
Salary: £50,000 OTE + Overtime
Location: Ashford, Kent
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, alternating day shifts (6:00am-2:30pm and 1:30pm-10:00pm), Monday to Friday with a Saturday rota.
About the Role:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Technician on behalf of our client, a leading commercial vehicle dealer servicing a wide range of heavy and light commercial vehicles across Kent. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their career further with structured technical training from the manufacturer. DAF Trucks experience and an LGV license are desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
This role offers a highly competitive salary and the potential to increase earnings through regular overtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose vehicle faults and perform repairs.
- Conduct routine servicing, adjustments, and repairs on a variety of vehicles.
- Test vehicles, report any component defects, and recommend solutions.
- Maintain accurate job records and order necessary replacement parts.
Essential Qualities:
- 2/3 years Experience in vehicle mechanics (preferably heavy vehicles).
- Qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair (City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3).
- Valid driving license (preferably HGV).
- Computer literacy and ability to work well under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail, team player, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Qualities:
- Experience working with DAF trucks.
