Teaching Assistant Role Are you a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a new role? We are working with an outstanding school in Richmond, currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team. Our school is a thriving, happy, and oversubscribed special school catering to children and young people aged 4-19 with severe and complex learning difficulties. Many of our pupils also have an additional diagnosis of autism and/or physical and sensory disabilities. We are deeply committed to supporting each pupil in achieving their full potential through a stimulating, challenging, and nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Support children and young people with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and physical/sensory disabilities. Work closely with the Class Teacher to contribute to assessment, planning, and the overall learning experience. Encourage the development of key skills such as communication, independence, and community inclusion. Provide a caring and creative approach to learning, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all students.Requirements: Experience working with children and young people; experience with SLD/PMLD/ASC is an advantage. Strong communication and numeracy skills. Well-organized, with the ability to assist in planning and delivering tailored learning experiences. A positive, enthusiastic, and imaginative approach to supporting learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
