General Port Operative

Job Description:

We are seeking hardworking, reliable, and safety-conscious individuals to join our team as Port Operatives. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling of goods, vehicles, and containers at our busy port facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Load and unload cargo from ships, trucks, and other transport vehicles using cranes, forklifts, and other port machinery.
• Safely secure, store, and transport goods within the port area.
• Conduct regular inspections and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns.
• Assist in the movement and storage of containers, including checking seals and documentation.
• Maintain a clean and organised working environment.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Support operational activities, including general port maintenance and handling of hazardous materials, if required.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience in a port or logistics environment (desirable but not essential).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and nights.
