Sous Chef - Prestigious Corporate Environment Pay rate: £16.25ph Location: Edinburgh Reporting to: Head Chef We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Sous Chef to join our culinary team in a leading corporate environment. This role is essential in supporting the Head Chef to deliver high-quality food and service across both retail and hospitality provisions. Key Responsibilities:Food Preparation & Cooking:Assist in preparing, cooking, and presenting menus to the required standards. Ensure consistency in quality and presentation across all services. Manage food production levels, control waste, and ensure portion control to meet GP targets. Operations:Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, service, and cleaning. Manage food ordering, stock control, and ensure compliance with due diligence. Support events and client functions by attending meetings and delivering agreed details. Health, Safety & Environment:Comply with hygiene, health and safety regulations, and complete all necessary training. Maintain a clean, well-organized work environment and ensure all equipment is in good working order. Ensure that risk assessments are completed and report accidents/incidents as needed. Additional Responsibilities:Promote a positive work environment and encourage teamwork and professional development. Lead the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef, ensuring smooth operations. Create and manage rotas for the kitchen team. Person Specification & Skills:Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role within high-volume catering or corporate environments. Strong culinary skills with a passion for creativity and food presentation. Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills. Financial management experience within a kitchen setting. NVQ Level 3 in professional cookery or equivalent. Familiarity with food safety regulations, HACCP, and health & safety management.
