About the role: SEN Teaching Assistant: We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with challenging behaviours at our wonderful, 3-form entry primary school in the heart of Finchley. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with children who have challenging behaviours, helping them to navigate their day-to-day school life and achieve their full potential. You will be part of a supportive team that includes a welcoming SLT, experienced teachers, and staff who are passionate about inclusive education. You will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment. About the school: Our school offers a unique blend of a central location with expansive grounds, including wooded areas, green fields, and varied play areas—perfect for outdoor learning and exploration. Alongside our primary education facilities, we have a nursery, pre-nursery, and a well-regarded Children’s Centre. Application Requirements: • A qualification in supporting children with SEN is preferred, but experience working with children with challenging behaviours is also highly valued. • A passion for inclusive education and a commitment to supporting all students. • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate well with children and adults alike. • A flexible, patient, and positive attitude towards learning and development. Key Responsibilities: • Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with challenging behaviours. • Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs). • Use positive behaviour management strategies to support student engagement and well-being. • Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes learning and development.
