Teaching Assistant - Behaviour Support (PRU/Alternative Provision) We are a dynamic Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)/Alternative Provision that supports young people who require additional guidance and a nurturing environment to reach their full potential. We work with students who may have experienced challenges in mainstream education and offer a holistic, tailored approach to help them re-engage with learning and develop positive behaviours. : We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant - Behaviour Support to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for students with challenging behaviour. Your primary focus will be to assist students in managing their behaviour, developing social skills, and achieving their personal and educational goals. Key Responsibilities: * Support students with behavioural challenges in a classroom setting, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment. * Implement individual behaviour management plans and strategies as directed by the teaching staff and SENCo. * Assist in the delivery of tailored lessons and activities to meet the individual needs of pupils. * Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, promoting high expectations and encouraging positive behaviour. * Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to provide holistic support for students. * Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to the teaching team. * Assist with de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention when required, ensuring that safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times. * Support students during break times, transitions, and off-site activities, promoting social interaction and independence. About You: * Previous experience working in a PRU, Alternative Provision, or a similar educational setting is highly desirable. * Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies. * Ability to build positive relationships with young people, demonstrating empathy, patience, and resilience. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * A team player who is adaptable, proactive, and able to handle challenging situations calmly. * A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. * Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience in a similar role.
