Van Driver/Warehouse Operative Location: Barnsley Salary: £12.83 per hour (including holiday pay) Hours: Monday to Friday (7 am – 4 pm) Contract: Temp to Perm (Full-Time) Driver Hire Doncaster & Barnsley is looking for a dedicated Van Driver/Warehouse Operative to join our client! This role is essential in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of their warehouse and timely delivery of orders in a professional, customer-friendly manner. Key Responsibilities: * Receiving & Checking: Verify incoming products against the Proof of Delivery; complete necessary documentation and report any discrepancies. * Warehouse Operations: Store products appropriately, pick orders for customers or inter-branch transfers, and maintain compliance with safety standards. * Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct regular vehicle checks and report any issues to the Transport Supervisor or line manager. * Delivery Management: Load and deliver products to customer premises, ensuring all health & safety requirements are met. * Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to both internal and external customers, addressing their needs and proactively offering solutions. * Collaboration: Support other branches during staff absences and assist in various warehouse activities as required. Qualifications & Skills: * Driving License: Full UK Driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points. Forklift licence is advantageous but not essential. * IT Skills: Comfortable using technology and relevant computer systems. * Experience: Previous driving and delivery experience; warehouse experience is advantageous but not essential. * Customer Service: Strong customer service skills and a teamwork ethos. * Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the heating/plumbing industry is a plus.
