Design Project Manager

Job DescriptionExpleo are currently working with an internationally renowned major Automotive OEM, who are looking to recruit an Automotive Design Project Manager, who will be key to the successful delivery of design projects, coordination of internal resources, facilities, external suppliers and stakeholders. You will manage projects, incorporating Design Processes and Engineering requirements, ensuring projects are delivered to budget, time and quality. This is a contract role based in Central London.Responsibilities of the Design Project Manager include:• Conception, execution and delivery of design projects • Co-ordinate functions to deliver projects in an efficient, effective and sustainable manner• Regularly updating the Master Gantt chart for all projects• Predict resource requirements so project demands are met• Manage and co-ordinate project responsibilities with stakeholders• Anticipate project needs around the design process and facilitate decision making• Support in resolving resource requirements and timing constraints• Provide support for RFQ, Quotation and ConsignmentQualifications and skills required for the Design Project Manager position:• Ideally Degree qualified in a relevant subject matter• Project management experience in delivery of Production & Concept projects within the automotive industry, ideally within a Design Studio• In depth knowledge of upstream / downstream Design activities including Sketching, Model Realisation, VR, Engineering Development & Prototype Builds• Proactive approach to problem resolution, facilitating as required in a cross functional basis• Clear and logical approach to project management, problem solving and adapting to change• Robust working knowledge of project milestones, activities and deliverables• Strong communication and interpersonal skills• Commercial awareness for cost control purposes, internal and with Supplier• Strong knowledge of ‘Best Practice’ within the Automotive Design business• Demonstrable experience of commercial and contractual processes, objectives and strategies• Familiar with Excel, Project or PRINCE processes desirable** PLEASE NOTE ** To meet with current legislation, right to work checks will be carried out to ensure candidates can work in the UK.
