Azure DevOps Engineer

3 Month Contract

Location: Home Based

Rate: £550 - £600 per day (Inside IR35)

We are looking to recruit an Azure DevOps Engineer on an initial 3 month contract for a technology driven public sector organisation. This is a home based role that has been deemed inside IR35.


Role Overview:


As an Azure DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting and maintaining critical infrastructure, automating workflows, and collaborating across teams to optimize DevOps processes. Your primary focus will be on troubleshooting and fixing pipelines, ensuring efficient delivery of IT solutions across various business programs. You will also help design and automate CI/CD pipelines while promoting DevOps best practices.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Maintain and fix CI/CD pipelines to streamline IT solution delivery for business programs.
  • Collaborate with multiple technical groups and external service providers to optimize DevOps practices.
  • Drive the use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly using Terraform and other automation tools.
  • Support cloud migrations and Azure services, leveraging IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models.
  • Work closely with business users to understand system issues and implement changes.
  • Mentor fellow engineers, providing guidance on DevOps practices and technical skills.
  • Proactively contribute to the IT community by sharing knowledge and updating documentation.


Essential Skills:


  • Proven experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g. Azure DevOps, TeamCity, TFS) in a .NET ecosystem.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve complex issues in large-scale IT systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform and other workflow automation tools (e.g., PowerShell DSC).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies for planning, development, and testing.
  • Good working knowledge of Azure services and experience designing CD for Azure App Services.
  • Exposure to automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium) in a CI environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.


Desirable Skills:


  • Experience with Dynamics 365 is highly desirable.
