Sonovision’s engineering teams work alongside the largest global OEMs to provide industry-specific design and manufacture services. We apply our expertise and innovation to the entire tool life-cycle from needs analysis and conception through critical design stages to serial manufacture.Our current service portfolio is current being expanded to include large site specific programmes and we are recruiting a tooling manager to implement and drive the programme.Roles and ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the Managing Director, the Tooling Project Manager has the following roles and responsibilities across multiple aligned programmes.Project ManagementOnsite presence at customer site(s), driving engagement and expediting programme deliveryDevelopment and maintenance of process and methodology including but not limited to Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)Performance MonitoringResponsibility for tooling P&LResponsibility for budget setting and monitoringWeekly and Monthly reporting to internal and external stakeholdersScheduling at a programmatic level, coordinating inputs from Design and Manufacture functionsCommercial and Technical responsibility for Request for Quotations (RFQ) and Call for Tenders (CFT) in response to customer requestsStrategic implementation of innovation for both Design and Manufacturing streamsResourcing and load management for entire project teamRisk management for entire programme including assessment and actionsResponsibility for the performance of the tooling programme team including Performance Reviews, Skills Management, training and mentoring and team motivationManufacturingDirect responsibility of Manufacturing EngineerOversight and responsibility for Approved suppliers and their performanceStrategic responsibility for developing manufacturing Supply ChainDrive manufacturing innovation through the implementation new methods and processDesignDirect responsibility of Design Engineer(s)Oversight and responsibility for the design process, tools and infrastructureLiaisonLiaison with internal and external stakeholders are varying levels of business in commercial, procurement, design and manufacture domains.Onsite presence at customer sites and primary Point of Contact (POC) for contracts.HSEPreparation of Risk Reviews for all onsite activity for company personnelMaintenance of HSE plans and PolicyInternal training of HSE aspects to all relevant company personnelQuality and performanceInterface with and support transnational quality functionSupport onsite and offsite validation exercisesThe right candidate will have the following experience:Experience of project management of large programmes including commercial, financial, resources and technical aspectsMinimum of degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalentDemonstrable experience in the aeronautical / aerospace domainWorking knowledge of design and manufacturing principles, technologies and supply chainsExperience of working with Tooling equipment (both design and manufacture) a distinct advantage.Please note this vacancy is only available to those who have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship and who have lived in the UK for the last 5+ years continuously.
