Commercial Director - ConstructionResidential Main Contractor – LondonWe are searching for a Commercial Director to join one of the UK’s leading main contractors specialising high-rise residential projects. This company have built a fantastic name in the industry for delivering face-paced schemes using an array of MMC methods. Their current turnover stands at £200m which has been steadily increasing year on year.As Commercial Director you will be instrumental during another growth period of for the company. They have three new projects which will be starting over the next 6 months so this in an opportunity to be involved with new projects straight out of the ground, along with existing schemes.Key Responsibilities:Commercial Strategy: Develop and implement the company’s commercial strategies, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and financial targets.Contract Management: Lead and oversee the preparation, negotiation, and execution of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.Financial Oversight: Monitor project profitability and cost control, ensuring that financial objectives are achieved for each project.Risk Management: Identify commercial risks, implement risk mitigation strategies, and ensure that risks are adequately communicated to stakeholders.Business Development: Work closely with the business development team to identify new commercial opportunities, partnerships, and client relationships.Project Delivery: Support project teams with commercial expertise, ensuring efficient delivery of contracts while maintaining high client satisfaction.Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the commercial team to ensure high performance and professional growth.Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and maximize business opportunities.Tender Process: Lead the preparation of bids and tender documents, ensuring they are competitive and commercially viable.Performance Reporting: Provide regular reports to the board and senior management team on commercial performance, financial outcomes, and contract progress.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Business Management, Construction Management, or a related field.Minimum of 10 years’ experience in commercial roles within the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management position.Proven experience managing multi-million-pound projects and contracts.Professional membership with a relevant industry body (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is desirable.Strong knowledge of construction contracts such as D&B, NEC, JCT,Excellent financial management and budgeting skills.To apply for this role please send your CV through the portal or get in contact with Sam Marsden at Falcon Green Directly.
