Therefore, we encourage people from all backgrounds to apply to our positions.Meet Your Manager; https://www.linkedin.com/in/michelleghlaw/Located in St Ives Cambridge, the Embedded Software Engineer will:Work within the Maintenance of Line (MOL) team, collaborating with cross-matrix functions and working directly with customers to define requirements for custom requestsSpecify, design and develop user interface and embedded software for Linx range of coding and marking productsInvestigate, understand, and resolve customer issuesResearch and prototype new technologies and methods to improve customer workflows In this role, a typical day will look like:Engage with customers to define and develop their requirementsSpecify, design, develop, document & implement new functionalityTroubleshoot and resolve complex problems with elegant, simple solutionsDetermine the technical complexity & timescales of projects/ tasks, and deliver to the agreed timescalesActively participate in the Agile software development processContinuous process improvement using latest software methodologies The essential requirements of the job include: Experience in the following languages: C, C++, Python, BASHLinux kernel device driversMulti-threaded application developmentTCP/IP and UDP socket programmingFamiliar with developing real-time applications that interface to custom hardware and other devices over various communication interfacesFamiliar with version control system such as GitFamiliar with software management tool such as JIRAAt Linx, a Veralto Company, we grow talent; we give you the opportunity to develop your career based on your strengths.
