About the role: We are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant who is experienced in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Our school is a diverse, welcoming environment with a strong emphasis on collaboration between staff, parents, and professionals. We strive to provide all our pupils with the skills and abilities they need for their next educational steps and future lives. As an SEN Teaching Assistant – ASD Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting students with Autism in both individual and small group settings. Your work will focus on ensuring these pupils receive personalised learning support while fostering their social and emotional development. This is a full-time, long-term position starting ASAP, and offers a rewarding opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, including SEN specialists and teachers who share your passion for inclusive education. Application Requirements: • Experience working with children with ASD in a school or SEN environment. • A calm, patient, and compassionate approach to supporting children with challenging behaviours. • Relevant qualifications, such as a CACHE Level 3 or equivalent, are desirable but not essential. • A dedication to making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs. Key Responsibilities: • Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder across KS1 and KS2. • Work collaboratively with class teachers and SEN specialists to tailor learning activities for individual needs. • Support the development of social, communication, and behavioural skills to promote positive interactions and independence. • Use visual aids and structured teaching techniques to help students engage in their learning and daily activities. • Build strong relationships with parents and caregivers, offering regular updates on pupil progress.
